The Lionesses are often asked how they got involved in football and for many it’s the same answer; they started by having a kickabout with their dad or brother.

But times are changing. With the SSE Wildcats centres, young girls can now play in an environment that is exclusively tailored to their needs.

The SSE Wildcats programme was launched last year as part of The FA’s strategy to double the number of females in the game by 2020.

Over 200 Wildcats centres across the country now provide football opportunities for 5-11-year-olds and a further 700 will be in place by the end of 2018.

If you like the sound of that, then why not find an SSE Wildcats session near you?
