We ran a competition for children to design our home shirt for the 2020/21 season, we asked children to be creative as they liked and we received over 130 fantastic shirt designs. It was a tough ask, but we whittled it down to four finalists.

The four finalists were Cassie aged 5, Layla aged 10, Ellen aged 12 and George aged 14.

Voting lasted for 7 days and had 1,500 votes. Cassie, aged 5 shirt was voted the favourite with a 41% share of votes. Cassie had her shirt made and the Tigresses have won it in six games this season so far.

Ellen aged 12 came second with her Humber Bridge design, it was a fantastic design we decided to make it into a training top.

We made two door stop, social distanced deliveries to present Cassie and Ellen with their shirts. It was brilliant to present them with their shirts before Christmas and we look forward to welcoming both of them to Haworth Park next season.

Cassie parents said: “The whole competition has been an incredible experience for Cassie, we thank HCLFC for the opportunity.

We asked Cassie “how do you feel about winning?” And her reply was “I feel amazing!” We asked her if she could say a little more and she replied….

I feel amazing to have won, it feels so good that people liked my shirt and I’m so excited and proud. Thank you so much to everyone for voting for me, it is so amazing to see the ladies wear my shirt!!!”
