A good win for the Tigresses securing all three points beating Merseyrail Ladies 3-0, goals coming from Hope Knight, Liberty Bott and Tillie Oxley.
Merseyrail started the game off with a great chance, a misplaced pass from the Hull City Ladies defense leading to a shot followed by a comfortable save from Wallace palming it out for a corner.
Corner crossed into the edge of the box and met by a lovely volley flying into the top right corner but blocked brilliantly and a clear ball meant the end of that attack for Merseyrail.
Only a few minutes later a well defended chance quickly turned to a Tigresses counter, a good long ball down the right wing. A lovely run followed by a lofted ball into knights feet, a great turn to get open for a shot but hits it just narrowly over the bar.
The chances were not stopping for the tigresses, a corner to the front post met Pollock’s head but not enough on the header and saw the ball travel narrowly wide of the front post.
Another chance for the tigresses as a ball drilled low into the box and an unfortunate stumble led to a shot which forced a comfortable save from the Merseyrail goalkeeper.
After a frustrating half for Hull City Ladies their chance finally came. At the very end of the first half, a high ball over the defence from the Merseyrail midfielder into their attacker leads to a first time volley rattling the Tigresses post.
A quick collect from the defence followed by a ball upfield leads to a Hull City Ladies counter, ball is passed beautifully down the right hand side to meet a great run from the halfway line all the way into the Merseyrail box, a low ball across the area past the keeper gives top goal scorer Hope Knight an open net to secure the lead before half time.

After a quick restart from opposition Merseyrail a through ball sends their number 9 one on one and the shot forces a good save from Wallace.
As the half progressed so did another chance for Hull City Ladies, some great footwork from Knight allowed her to create a small gap but a good defensive challenge broke that attack down.
Only a few minutes after the missed opportunity, some great link up play from Tanser and Brierly on the left hand side. This play lead to a perfectly weighted ball to Knight sending her on a fantastic run leading to a good ball into the box, Merseyrail’s goalkeeper quick off her line to claim but a parry straight into the feet of number 7 Liberty Bott gives her an open goal to double the Tigresses lead and a move closer to all three points.
Hull City Ladies, still trying to extend their 2-0 lead with more chances, a good ball from the wing to the edge of the box followed by a well connected volley ratting the crossbar, the tigresses unlucky to not have a bigger advantage.
Chance after chance for the Tigresses, a great move from the two attackers followed by a ball over the top to Liberty Bott but her effort was saved well by the goalkeeper to deny a third.
Later on into the second half with around 10 minutes to go, a ball from the left hand side into the box is overhit to the corner flag. The ball was kept in by the newly substituted Emily Smith, after claiming and a quick look up to pass to the wide open Tillie Oxley who took one touch and unleashed a cracking shot from the edge of the area into the side netting to extend a well deserved Tigresses lead to 3-0.
