Hull City ladies look to continue their 5 game unbeaten league streak with a trip back to the Easy Buy Stadium to face Durham Cestria. Durham are currently sitting top of the WPL division one league with only one loss in 16 matches. This is going to be a real test for Hull City Ladies facing a team with a +29 goal difference.

Last time out

Hull City Ladies and Durham Cestria last met in a 2-0 loss for the tigresses at Maiden Castle towards the late stages of last year.

A disappointing result from the tigresses but picking up some form since the Durham game, Sunday’s match looks all to play for.

Post match interview with Chris Hames after the 2-0 loss. He described the tigresses ‘ high standards not seen’ with a strong first 15 minutes against a difficult opponent, Hull City Ladies allowed the game to run away from them and not play to the level of the real tigresses. Chris further spoke about the importance of the continued support from all of the fans to lift the team and how the team needs to produce results for their loyalty through tough times.

Without a loss this year in the league, Hull City Ladies last defeat was away to today’s opponents on Sunday 18th December. The tigresses are building up some good momentum with recent good results, a turnaround from the beginning of the season. 13 goals in 5 league matches from Hull City Ladies showing the quality of the front 4. 2 goals conceded in 5 league games for the tigresses is also showing the strength of the other side of the pitch followed by a good midfield pairing should create problems for Durham Cestria.

One to watch

With a great performance under the lights at the LNER Stadium on Wednesday night for the Tigresses, the player to watch against Durham Cestria will definitely be number 24 Hope Knight. Hope’s fast dribbling and clinical finishing from the left hand side has made her Hull City Ladies top scorer for the season, Knight bagged a brace against York City to take the tigresses to a 3-1 victory and take them to 5th in the table with their 7th victory of the season.
