Match Preview – Leeds Game

Game Sponsored by:

Hull City Ladies look to bounce back after an unfortunate 2-0 loss to league leaders Durham Cestra at the Easy Buy Stadium last Sunday. Today’s opponents being Leeds United, currently sitting in 7th place two below the Tigresses. Leeds being 5 points behind Hull City Ladies with 3 games in hand, a result from either side will be massive for the rest of their season.

Last time the teams met

The last meeting from the two sides took place over 6 months ago with the result going in Leeds United’s favour at Leeds United’s Stadium. A 1-0 loss for the Tigresses for their first game of the season. Without a point in the first two games of the season, a quick turnaround and good recent form for the Tigresses this game will be a great one.

In a post match interview after the Leeds united game, Chris Hames showed pride in the way the team played in the second half after an unfortunate first half. With a ‘nightmare week at centre half, not being anybody’s fault’ the Tigresses captain Ellie Tanser had to play out of her usual position to play in centre back, still performing incredibly well.

With a good defensive record in the past six games conceding only four goals, two of them in a frustrating loss to league leaders Durham Cestra.

One to watch

A great performance from Amy Pollock last Sunday against league leaders Durham Cestria, a frustrating loss for the Tigresses in a game Hull City Ladies seem to create more chances. Amy Pollock received player of the match with a fantastic display from midfield, controlling the field on both ends creating many great chances for the Tigresses and solidifying the defense.
