Match Preview – Barnsley
Proud Principal & Community Partners
After an unfortunate postponement for Sunday’s game against Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, Hull City Ladies travel away to Barnsley this Tuesday for a 7:45pm kick off. The Tigresses currently sit two places below Barnsley, 9 points behind with a game in hand. Good recent form for Hull City Ladies conceding only 4 goals in their last 6 league games, Tuesday’s game should be a real test for both teams.
Back to back games for the team with the teams meeting again on Thursday 30th March. This game will take place at Hull City Ladies home ground, the Easy Buy Stadium, both games kicking off at 7:45pm.
Last meeting of the teams
With the last league meeting being over 5 years ago between the sides, Hull City Ladies travel to take on Barnsley at the Recreation Ground for a 7:45pm kick off.
After a few postponements a few years ago, the teams last meeting was January 7th 2018 with the result going the Tigresses way. A 5-0 victory for Hull City Ladies with familiar faces getting on the scoresheet: Hope Knight, Jo Symington and a brace for Rachael Ackroyd, also Katie Thompson in the starting 11 for the Tigresses.
Only one player for Barnsley who is still in the squad, Georgina Wilson-Roberts playing in the fixture over 5 years ago. Photos from the friendly the teams had on 23rd August 2020.

One to watch
With the postponement of the Leeds game, the one to watch is staying the same as the week before. A great performance from Amy Pollock on Sunday 5th March against league leaders Durham Cestria, a frustrating loss for the Tigresses in a game Hull City Ladies seem to create more chances. Amy Pollock received player of the match with a fantastic display from midfield, controlling the field on both ends creating many great chances for the Tigresses and solidifying the defence.
Hospitality
Tickets for the game available on the entrance to the ground. Hospitality at the Recreation Ground includes a snack bar, serving hot and cold drinks and food. A few options outside of the ground are available. A few minutes walk outside of the ground can lead you to Wayne’s Pizza Plaice serving everything from fish and chips to pizzas.
