Bradford Women 1 – 0 Hull City Ladies – Match Report

An unfortunate result for the Tigresses on Sunday away to Bradford Women at the Horsfall Stadium. A frustrating afternoon in good conditions with great weather but hitting the woodwork twice and a lot of chances were not taken.

A slow start from both sides not creating any real chances and early half chances on the right hand side from Katie Thompson but struggled to get a good connection, breaking down the chance.

Half way into the first half a long range effort from Helen Lynskey forces a great save from the Bradford goalkeeper parrying out for a corner. A poor corner from the Tigresses with no end result.

The home team a few minutes later created a quick chance, beating the offside trap gave Bradford an easy finish for the first goal of the game with Sandra Martins scoring in the 28th minute.

A very uneventful first half with limited chances for both sides, the Tigresses head into half time a goal down. A big second half for Hull City Ladies was needed.

Starting off better in the first half, a good chance created 10 minutes into the first half with Ackers’ shot rattling the woodwork from a great football. A great chance for Hull City Ladies unfortunate to not see the score level.

Another woodwork hit from the Tigresses. A great opportunity with a free kick from 20 yards out, a great effort from the winger smashing the crossbar out for a goal kick. An array of great chances for the Tigresses unfortunate to not convert one into a goal.

Still pushing for an equaliser late on in the second half, a good run from the substituted Emily Smith finding top scoring Hope Knight allowing her to get a shot but just over the bar. Tigresses still behind at the Horsfall Stadium.

A collection of great chances for Hull City Ladies, unlucky not to take any points back home with them. A big game next week with a game against title challengers Newcastle at the Dransfield Stadium.
