Last time out

A great result in the Tigresses last game out against league contenders Newcastle United. A 2 all draw for the sides, goal scorers being Katie Thompson and Hope Knight for Hull City Ladies. The Tigresses sitting comfortably in 5th place with a game in hand and 5 points behind 4th place. Leeds United sit in 7th place and only two points behind Hull City Ladies with a game in hand so tonight’s match up will be a big one for the league.

In a post match interview with Chris Hames, Chris described the match as ‘a really tough game but the girls battled and the result was a fair reflection of the game’. Going behind reasonably early on but the girls displayed a much better performance then the previous week in their 1-0 defeat to Bradford and Chris said ‘ we played more as a team and continue to show we can compete with one of the best teams in the league’. When asked about the late drama of the penalty, Chris’ thoughts were ‘Hope did brilliantly to have that composure when she couldn’t get the shot away to draw the foul by causing panic in the last few minutes.

The reliable Abi Wallace is this games player to watch when the Tigresses play Leeds United at the Easy Buy Stadium in the Yorkshire derby for what should be a great game.
