As the Hull City Ladies squad starts to take shape, and ahead of announcements of our newest recruits, we are delighted top announce that Shakala Brookes will be stepping up in to the first team squad for the new season.
‘Shay’ has been training with Chris Hames’ Tigresses since the start of preseason, impressing all, and will now make the formal step up to the first team squad
“Shay has been class stepping in to First Team training this preseason. Her pace and relentless energy epitomizes what we are looking for in a player and we are delighted to give her a chance to step up this season” – Chris Hames, First Team Manager
Hailing from Scunthorpe, Brookes, 18, signed for the Tigresses reserves midway through last season, and noticeably shone as a consistent threat in the Reserves County Cup final in April, and putting in a POTM performance in the season finale away at Huddersfield Town Development
Shakala will wear the No. 20 shirt this season, adding competition and variety to a deadly front line that scored 58 across all competitions last season
