Job Title: Social Media Assistant

We are looking to add to our successful media team. A great opportunity for a 2nd or 3rd year media studies student as we have a proven track record of giving students vital industry experience before finishing their studies, enabling them to find roles in the media industry as our previous volunteers have. Or a enthusiastic sports journalist looking to enhance CV , increase knowledge and experience and work within sports environment at a high level. All roles are voluntary but offer excellent opportunities as well as fulfilling work.
Activities include (but are not limited to), content for our social media channels, match day updates, pre and post match interviews with the management team / players, match previews and reports.
Role Purpose
- Responsible for the overall running and development of the club’s social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram and YouTube, in line with the Social Media Strategy, as well as running the club’s Youth social media accounts.
- Takes a leading role in creating and producing content as well as help to deliver key marketing messages and partners’ content across all platforms.
- Using X on game days to produce minute by minute updates
Main Accountabilities
- Deliver on and implement the club’s social media strategy
- Capture, edit and create social-first content for Hull City Ladies social media channels.
- Publish and distribute content on the club’s social media channels including, in particular, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Threads and YouTube Shorts.
- Use a phone to collect and publish vertical content, ensuring high-quality and engaging material.
- Help maintain the club’s tone of voice and brand values on social media.
- Day-to-day management of club social media channels where appropriate and necessary, in conjunction with other members of the social media team.
- Work with the partnerships and marketing departments to support campaigns that engage Hull City Ladies FC audiences on social media
- Attend first team home games and some first team away games to coordinate and produce pre-match, n-match and post-match social media content;
- Work with the partnerships team, and directly with partners, to understand, plan and execute the social media requirements included in their partnership assets;
- Keep up to date with the current and emerging social media techniques, trends and platforms;
- Manage incoming messages and monitor supporter activity across channels, responding to questions and comments from the public;
- Use own initiative to respond to reputational issues on social media, identifying any queries to escalate to Head of Operations when required;
- Champion the positive use of social media with the Club’s staff, supporters and stakeholders;
