Hull City Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of Rebecca Sidwell from FAWNL Div 1 North side York City Ladies
Having come through the York City RTC with fellow Goalkeeper Abi Wallace, Becky has gone on to make 89 senior appearances across the last three and half seasons
A dominating Goalkeeper, with honours representing England College national side out in Italy, Becky offers further competition to the Goalkeeping department
Manager Chris Hames had this to say on his new signing
Becky is a player we have admired for a number of years, and throughout her time at York has been someone who set a high bar in her performances against us.
She comes in with a different set of experiences to both Abi and Bob, having dealt with carrying performance and result for a long time at York – we are excited to integrate her experience, knowledge and passion to develop in to our squad. She matches our hungry side and has already shown a real desire to impress
Becky Sidwell had this to say
I’m so excited to join the club and get started properly! I’ve really enjoyed training with the girls the last couple of weeks and I’m looking forward to getting to know them all. I’ve played against Hull previously and know how much of a threat they can be to other teams so I’m grateful I’m on their team this time
The team is very competitive so I’m looking forwards to being a part of a group that are going to push each other. I’ve got a desire to win and I know with this team we can achieve big things.
I’m really looking forward to getting to know the girls and learning from them. I already know a couple of the girls so I’m looking forward to training with them again and as well as the other girls and really pushing each other to be the best we can be!
