Erin Nicholson checks in

Hull City Ladies have secured cultured and creative midfielder Erin Nicholson, as our 4th signing, ahead of the 2025/26 season

A North East native, Erin joins the Tigresses after leaving WSL2 side Durham Women in the summer where she was a PGA graduate, as well as making 14 appearances for the senior side.

Further to this ‘Nico’ has 79 appearances and 17 goals accrued for Durham Cestria, showing her experience in the FAWNL during her years of development

Welcome to the Tigresses!

Erin Nicholson on her signing:

I am absolutely delighted to join Hull City Ladies. It’s a massive opportunity and one I’m really excited to grab with both hands. Stepping into Tier 3 is a big challenge, but the ambition of the club, the quality in the squad, and the way they support player development really stood out to me. As a midfielder, I thrive in high-tempo, competitive environments – and this move felt like the perfect next step in my journey.

My main goal is to establish myself as a consistent and reliable performer at this level. I want to make my mark in midfield – bringing energy, composure, and a strong work ethic in and out of possession. It’s a step up from the league I played in last season, so I know I’ll need to push my standards every single week. Ultimately, I want to contribute to the team’s success, earn the respect of my teammates, and keep progressing as a player. I want to help Hull compete at the top end of the table and build something which the fans can get behind.

I’m really looking forward to getting out there in front of the fans, representing the badge, and just enjoying football at a high level. There’s nothing better than those game days where everything clicks – and I can’t wait to experience that with this group. I am buzzing to be a part of a team with such big ambitions, both on and off the pitch. I’m also excited to grow as a player within this environment and embrace every challenge that comes our way.

First team Manager, Chris Hames:

We became aware of Erins availability over the summer, and we were determined in that moment to get a deal done. She is a talented technical player, and a brilliant person who has already slotted in to our squad very well

We needed to evolve in to a better football team this season, having more in how we play, how we build and attack – Erin ticks many of these boxes for us and gives new dimension as we look to evolve as a club. We are very excited to get going with Erin at the heart of the team
