Half way through the season and into the 4th round of the FA Cup, how is the group shaping up for the second half of the season
I’ve spoken about the team previously and how I felt like we were coming together nicely. However, I think over the last few months we have become a really tight unit. I feel like everyone has found their spot in the team, whether they’ve been here for a few months or just a few weeks. This team is special in that we have an unbelievable group of girls who are brilliant footballers, but even better people, which I think makes it easier for those new faces to fit in seamlessly! And it makes my job as captain super easy, as all the girls get involved at making the new players feel welcome.
So many new faces joined in the summer, and a few new ones through the season. How has the group come togteher, how have you found that as captain integrating so many together
Personally, this season so far has been frustrating as I’ve had a couple of knocks which have prevented me from training for prolonged periods and I’ve even had to miss a couple of games, but the Christmas break came at a really good time for me and gave me a chance to reset and get back fit.
How have you found the season so far? Happy of where the club are at? Any other ambitions for the season?
As for the team, I’m proud of where we currently sit in the league table but I’m hoping for more performance wise in the second half of the season. I think we’ve got a couple more gears to get through and hopefully we can put in some really good performances in these next few games and creep up that league table. We have so much talent in the squad and I don’t think we’ve got the best out of everyone just yet, so I’m excited for what’s to come!
